The divine feminine exists in all of us. We express it in different ways. The nurturer in us (and there are many among and within men and women) offer a soft, loving acceptance of what is, while providing guidance to lovingly support or assist. Whether for another human being or a companion animal or the garden that requires tending, the feminine traits of love, compassion, and nurturance are present in many.
This day is named “Mother’s Day” and at best is a mixed bag for all. One does not have to give birth or become an adoptive mother. Many are hurting this day either because they have lost a child or their own mother. Still others don’t know their mothers or didn’t have a warm supportive experience with a mother figure of any kind, as a child.
So today I offer my deep, abiding respect for the divine feminine expressing in all beings. I also bow to those who have borne or adopted children and given up themselves in the process. May you find your way back to YOU.
These quotes from a small and powerful book* say it best:
“Be a full person. Motherhood is a glorious gift, but do not define yourself solely by motherhood. Be a full person. Your child will benefit from that.”
“Ask for help. Expect to be helped. There is no such thing as a Superwoman.”
Be YOU ’til Full…Beautiful.
